NORTH BRANFORD —

On Friday, Dec. 6, the North Branford community will gather to experience and enjoy the annual Town Tree Lighting, and all the fun holiday activities that go along with it, at the town-owned Augur property, 290 Forest Road, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Organized by North Branford Parks and Recreation and co-sponsored by North Branford Rotary Club, the annual tree lighting event brings out residents to share in the season at the same site where North Branford gathers to enjoy the annual Potato and Corn Festival.

Starting at 6:30 p.m., the night's guest of honor, Santa Claus, will arrive to light the tree.

Free activities planned include a petting zoo, ice sculpting display, tractor-pulled hayrides, musical entertainment, marshmallow roasting (sticks provided by Smorstix), hot chocolate and cookies; and, of course,visits with Santa for the kids.

Additional food will be offered from JJ's Food Truck and Sugar Bakery Cupcake Truck.
