Attorney Chad L. Edgar is the principal at EDGAR LAW LLC, which he founded this year. Attorney Edgar has been practicing law since he was admitted in New York in 2002. He began his career at Sidley Austin's New York Office as an associate where he focused on employment matters providing both advice and representation in litigation. Thereafter, Attorney Edgar joined Gerald B. Lefcourt P.C., a top-tier New York white-collar criminal defense firm, where, as an associate, he assisted in the defense of clients in high-stakes criminal trials in the federal courts in Manhattan and Brooklyn. In 2006, Attorney Edgar became an associate for and later a partner with Dawn M. Cardi and assisted her in defending indigent clients who were indicted for serious crimes in the federal courts of New York, along with continuing his practice in the area of labor and employment. Over the years, Attorney Edgar has routinely advised and represented both employees and employers in disputes arising from misconduct, enforceability of non-compete and non-solicit agreements, severance agreements, allegations of discrimination and disputes about compensation, amongst a host of other issues. Most recently, Attorney Edgar was staff attorney for the Corporation Counsel for the City of Waterbury where he defended the municipality against a diverse range of employment claims.
In 2016, after being an expatriate in New York and a surreptitious Red Sox fan for many years, Attorney Edgar returned to the shoreline in Connecticut where he grew up to commence practice in his childhood state and once again to cheer openly for his favorite baseball team. When he is not working, Attorney Edgar can usually be seen trailing after his young children in the neighborhood, at the playground, on the town green or at the beach.
